This weekend of shooting survived my car getting totaled, spending a night in the hospital for a friend, and more stress than getting your heart broken. Now I just have to race to finish the picture before I have to start paying for my car. I’d rather live in debt as a recluse with a finished feature than have a working car and half the footage.
The story of shooting this film would be great if I were willing to give all the details. Some day when it is past I will update. Sadly I’m sure I’ll forget some wonderful jokes.
But the footage is still looking good, and when I’m not on the brink of saying “fuck it” I’m really happy. You have to learn somehow, right? I owe everyone I know more than I could ever pay back. I could never do this on my own, and it’ll be a while before I wear the writer/director hat again probably. It’s less stressful just to light and shoot.
